In 2008, I visited NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) as an International Space University – ISU masters intern (more details in the section Biographies). In 2023, I revisited NASA/GSFC as a Visiting Scholar, investigating eclipses and the beautiful auroras, with scientific and educational purposes… In this section, I share pictures of my recent visit to NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, as well as pictures of some interesting locations in the Washington, DC area in the United States, such as the Air and Space Museum and the White House…

Re-visiting NASA Goddard Space Flight Center after the develpment of schizophrenia was the greatest dream of my entire life, which God miracles and David (my earthly angel!) unique help, and also my determination were capable of turning into reality the most beautiful and incredible miracle God did in my entire life…

It makes me wonder that most people in the world have limitations… Schizophrenia is a limitation, but a cancer can also be a limitation… But for God everything is possible! And having limitations does not mean you are not capable of flying higher and doing great things…

In the sequence, I show in pictures my latest experience at NASA…

Inside NASA Pictures

NASA Goddard old main entrance

My visit mentor, the Chief-Scientist Dr. David Sibeck

Most NASA Goddard buildings are decorated with nice posters…

Another nice poster…

This is the NASA Goddard Cafeteria, a nicely decorated environment where employees have lunch and coffee… It is also a place for exciting work discussions!

I took a picture of this small poster to show that NASA has fitness activities for employees… As a NASA intern in 2008, I joined Martial Arts… I was not good at that though, but I found that fun!

One more nice poster… I visited the Heliophysics division… It was Autumn, but weather was warm…

My mentor David in front of his building

A beautiful carpet with the NASA logo… With NASA Goddard plaque behind!

The NASA flag…

In front of a NASA Goddard building… NASA/GSFC has more than 40 main buildings

There are plaques to indicate direction to cars inside NASA Goddard… Most employees go to work by car. When I was an intern in 2008, I lived near the space center and I went to work by bycicle

It was a fun phrase outside my mentor’s office…

My foreign national badge. I was required to show my badge and passport to security every day when entering the space center, and I could only get in escorted by my mentor David. It is the rule for foreign national visitors

This is a beautiful lake inside NASA Goddard… The space center is located in a very large area which was donated by the U.S. Agriculture Department to construct NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, which is one of the largest NASA space centers

NASA Goddard small probes replicas…

Inside a NASA Goddard building… Emphasizing that Goddard is a scientific space center…

Another NASA Goddard space… With a large television…

A NASA Goddard building with the NASA logo… It is the only one with the NASA logo indeed… All other buildings inside Goddard are numbered but they do not have the NASA logo…

A very large room at NASA Goddard where spacecrafts are integrated and tested… Employees wear special clothes at such locations…

Karin, NASA employee and NASA Goddard tour guide, and myself (Norma), at visit to integration and testing facilities…

Another nice picture at the integration and testing facilities…

Another nice picture at the highly decorated NASA Goddard buildings…

It is a sequence of pictures at the integration and testing facilities inside NASA Goddard…

My mentor David and I at Air and Space Museum planetarium… A large one…

I have a nice NASA blouse and I took a picture in front of a nice Moon capsule!

We hope that you have enjoyed these NASA pictures… It gives you an idea of how NASA looks from inside… Further, pictures of the Washington DC area gives you an idea of the American capital… It can be shared for example with students and teachers, who can try to describe NASA in their own words… There are pathways for those who want to work at NASA, such as I went as a Visiting Scholar, or as an intern, and in some cases as an employee… It is easier if you are born in the United States, but there are people from other countries doing work at NASA such as me, both temporary or permanent staff…

If you have further questions about NASA Goddard Space Flight Center or about my work while a Visiting Scholar at Goddard, I would be happy to answer, just send me an email at eclipseshistory@gmail.com

God bless you!
